I always love a good Apple story, especially ones that provide a new perspective on the company that isn't focused on Steve Jobs. Insanely Simple is a fantastic journey through some of the most iconic brand and advertising projects from Steve Jobs and Apple, told from the seat of a creative leader who worked directly with Steve. Segall takes this career-spanning experience and leans into clear and practical lessons any leader can use.

This book was like being a fly on the wall, inside the late-night calls, urgent meetings, and process for yet another pillar of Apple's excellence: Getting their product out there with a story and emotional connection that cannot be denied and is so simple it connects to us at a human level.

“When in doubt, minimize”- Ken Segall

Biggest Takeaway: A great product is nothing unless it can connect with people at a deeper and more human level. To create this impact you need to be a champion of simplicity. Reduce your teams, process, and value down to its core essence.

Here are my notes, action items, and lessons learned…
